Gregory V. Carter is an accomplished financial services professional with over two decades of demonstrated success in private equity and venture capital investment banking in sectors such as medical cannabis, biotechnology, healthcare, medical technology, and orthopedics. For the last several years prior to 2020 Gregory was a founding member and Director of Investments, working side-by-side with medical cannabis pioneer Kevin Murphy's multi-state operator Acreage Holdings (ACRHF). Acreage eventually became one of the largest vertically integrated operations in the U.S. Gregory was instrumental in Acreage's funding from inception ($50MM market cap) through Acreage's successful public market listing ($2.8B market value). Gregory has also been a key participant in the multi-million dollar funding’s for early stage seed and Series A companies through their public listings for Myriad Genetics (MYGN), Avanir Pharmaceuticals (AVNR), Sintx Technologies Inc. (SINT), Somanetics Corp, acquired buy Covidien PLC (COV), and Onyx Pharmaceuticals, acquired by Amgen (AMGN), to name a few. Gregory also advised in the funding for cannabis real estate firm Green Acreage Real Estate, post-merger now known as New Lake Capital Partners (NLCP).

Gregory has been a private equity advisor to institutional clients, family offices, and high net worth individuals, specializing in vetting venture stage and emerging growth companies, sourcing deals, and raising capital. Gregory believes strongly in building a community to support entrepreneurs. Gregory’s multifaceted career includes positions at private equity boutique investment banking firms Britehorn Partners, Creation Capital LLC, Spenser Trask, and Trautman Wasserman & Co.
